Want to stay cozy at home and enjoy learning a new art skill this winter? Join Pierce Cedar Creek Institute and Dayna Walton of Solstice Handmade to learn the basics of relief printmaking! In this class, we will walk you through the step-by-step process of creating block prints, focusing on some species that are especially noticeable this time of year—owls! You will learn about a few common owls and then sketch and hand carve a favorite species into soft block. We also will talk about different methods of printing at home and how to use these prints to create a mobile. The block you create can be reprinted again and again, and you will leave with the tools and knowledge to continue making relief prints. This live class will be held over Zoom, and you will receive a video recording of the class. This workshop is suitable for printers of all experience levels.

You may pick up your kit at the Institute starting January 16 or add $10 for mail delivery (must be registered by January 13 if you want it mailed)

Pre-registration allows the Institute to secure staffing and materials for programs/events so that we may best serve you.
